Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Subject Matter Expert in corrugate packaging to establish a category strategy and lead value-adding initiatives. You will build relationships with major corrugate suppliers, travel to plants, and drive projects from concept to completion while collaborating with procurement leadership and commercial teams.

The role requires 5+ years in packaging engineering with corrugate, strong cost modeling and project management experience, and proficiency with SAP and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years packaging engineering and manufacturing experience with corrugate and other paper products.
• 3+ years of accomplished project management experience; industry knowledge a plus.
• Proven experience in developing cost models, managing multiple projects, and complex programs.
• Proven strong interpersonal skills to communicate project plans and coordinate resources.
• Ability to communicate, influence others and manage multiple resources.
• Understanding of corrugate contracts and key elements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SAP, Microsoft Project, SharePoint and MS Office.
• English language capability.

Responsibilities

• Establish a category strategy for corrugate packaging.
• Build and maintain relationships with main corrugate suppliers.
• Travel to plants and identify corrugate opportunities that will generate value.
• Understand market dynamics in the corrugate industry.
• Interpret industry indexes related to corrugate price and develop alternative indexes.
• Identify cost to produce elements of a box.
• Strong project management skills and track record of driving projects to completion.
• Collaborate with operators to executive leadership to influence decisions.
• Identify supply and business continuity risks and develop mitigation plans.
