Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is hiring for a corrections supervisory role. You will lead and mentor officers across posts, ensure shift coverage, and oversee core operations including control centers and reception areas.

A strong focus on safety, discipline, and offender management guides daily duties. Minimum experience includes several years in offender custody with at least one year in a supervisory capacity; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of custody experience with adult offenders.
• One year as a Correctional Sergeant or Senior Probation/Parole Assistant preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and instructs lower-level Correctional Officers; sets expectations and monitors performance.
• Directs major activities such as control center operation or reception/orientation.
• Patrols living quarters and posts to ensure officers are on duty and attentive.
• Investigates disturbances and enforces discipline among offenders.
• Provides training support to staff and handles related administrative tasks.
