GEO Group is seeking a full-time Security Officer to oversee all security functions during shifts with a focus on detainee supervision and safety. The role involves routine inspections of security equipment and facilities, assisting with counts, and reporting incidents to maintain secure operations.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, one year in a correctional setting, and a valid driver’s license with US citizenship. Training and safety programs are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• One year of experience in a correctional setting required.
• Must be flexible and able to command respect of detainees and staff.
• Must have completed an approved training program with certificate.
• Must possess an active, valid driver’s license and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all security functions during shift as assigned by management.
• Supervises feeding of inmates during meal times.
• Inspects security equipment, doors, gates, fences, and lighting.
• Assists staff with unit counts and safety training.
• Investigates disturbances and assists with incidents as required.
• Provides guidance to inmate/detainee workers and ensures safety training.
• Participates in reviews and maintains compliance with policies.
