Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a CORRECTIONAL PROBATION SENIOR OFFICER for the Circuit 12 (Multi-hire) Probation and Parole Office in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. This role supervises a specialized caseload including youthful offenders and drug offender probation, with possible responsibilities across intake, court liaison, trainer, and device installation duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to work independently under stressful conditions.

• Knowledge of techniques for advising, interviewing, and counseling.

• Ability to conduct investigations.
• Ability to apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, surveil, and manage a specialized caseload of offenders.
• Conduct field and office supervision visits to ensure compliance.
• Maintain case records and documentation, electronic monitoring data, and progress notes.
• Install and monitor electronic monitoring devices and GPS systems.
• Coordinate and participate in treatment, education, vocational, and health programs for offenders.
• Conduct pre-sentence, pre-trial, and post-sentence investigations and prepare reports for authorities.
• Liaise with judiciary, prosecutors, and law enforcement; foster community partnerships.
• Provide training and mentorship to other probation staff where applicable.
