Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Housing Unit Manager II at Eastern Correctional Institution in Maury, NC. The role focuses on managing a housing unit, supervising sergeants, and ensuring safety and compliance in daily housing operations.

Qualifications

• MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Pass criminal background check.
• Produce a negative drug screening result.
• Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations.
• Possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage the correctional housing unit in the absence of the CHUM III.
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff; ensure readiness and training.
• Coordinate work schedules and enforce procedures and safety rules.
• Maintain facility security through inspections and compliance with regulations.
• Direct drills, searches, and emergency response communications.
• Oversee searches of offenders and living/work areas for contraband.
