Job summary

GAF is seeking a Corporate Project Engineer IV in the United States to serve as a technical authority for large-scale capital projects and to govern project execution standards. You will drive design oversight, risk management, and high-level decision making while guiding cross-functional teams through the full project lifecycle to ensure defined scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of engineering experience with capital projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Subject Matter Expertise: primary technical authority for plant capital portfolio.
• Design Oversight: approve major design deviations and ensure solutions meet standards.
• High-Level Decision Making: lead critical decisions using data analysis and risk assessment.
• Project Execution Process: ensure scope, budget, and adherence to process before proceeding.
• Strategic Planning: develop business cases for large-scale capital projects.
• Portfolio Management: ensure defined scope, schedule, and budget before execution.
• Continuous Improvement: drive improvement across engineering to prevent delays/budget overruns.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: lead teams across the project lifecycle without direct authority.
• Stakeholder Management: influence stakeholders up to executive level.
• Resource Balancing: identify when external firms are needed to supplement capacity.
• Talent Development: mentor and share lessons learned within the network.
• Perform other duties as assigned
