Job summary

Spire is seeking an experienced Senior IT Network Engineer to own and support the corporate and back-office network environment in the Washington, DC area. Reporting to the Global IT Director, you will architect, implement, operate, and maintain the network infrastructure across offices, remote users, and backend services.

You will lead design and operation of routing, switches, VPNs, VPN access, DNS, wireless, and security-aligned network services, while driving reliability, lifecycle

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on network engineering or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise IP networks and services.
• Experience with routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, implementation, operation, and reliability of the corporate network.
• Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, VPNs, and site connectivity.
• Manage remote access, VPN architecture, authentication integration, and user connectivity.
• Oversee firewall platforms, policy lifecycle, and security coordination with other teams.
• Maintain DNS operations and network services supporting identity, email, SaaS, endpoints.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation for network deployment and monitoring.
• Participate in after-hours escalations and on-call support as needed.
• Document network diagrams, configurations, IP schemes, and recovery procedures.
