Job summary

Spire Government seeks a Senior IT Network Engineer to own and support Spire’s corporate and back‑office network environment. Based in Boulder, CO, you will design, implement, and operate the network across offices and remote users, coordinating with Security, Infrastructure, and Facilities.

You will manage routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, wireless, and corporate site-to-site connectivity. Strong experience in cloud networking and automation is required, with a proactive,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in network engineering or similar hands-on role.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs.
• Experience designing and operating enterprise routing and switching environments.
• Experience with remote-access and site-to-site VPNs (IPsec/SSL).
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS/Azure).
• Solid troubleshooting across multi-site networks and WANs.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, implementation, operation, and reliability of corporate network.
• Design and maintain routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and office-to-office connectivity.
• Manage corporate remote-access environment and VPN authentication.
• Oversee firewall policies and lifecycle management in collaboration with Security.
• Maintain network segmentation, DNS operations, and cloud connectivity.
• Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code for network services.
• Implement monitoring and alerting for network performance and reliability.
• Participate in after-hours escalation as needed.
