Job summary

Westmoreland is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to support our U.S. and Canadian operations, negotiating, drafting, and managing operational contracts across multiple agreements.

The role demands a JD, at least five years of transactional and regulatory experience, and the ability to work independently while aligning with business objectives. Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 5 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house.
• Experience in transactional work and contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation, drafting, review, and management of all operational contracts for U.S. and Canadian operations.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to manage contracts from inception through execution.
• Provide proactive legal counsel on matters affecting daily business operations.
• Collaborate with operations, leadership, business development, and external counsel.
• Develop and maintain contracting templates and processes to drive efficiency.
• Assist with corporate governance and subsidiary management tasks.
• Support company compliance initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
