Job summary

Larson Maddox is seeking an experienced Lead Legal Advisor to oversee commercial and operational matters across the U.S. and Canada. You will draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts while aligning business goals with risk management.

You will partner with business leaders and internal teams to provide practical guidance, support strategic transactions, and drive process improvements in contracting, governance, and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 2-5 years of legal experience in-house or at a law firm.
• Strong background in commercial contracts, negotiations, and transactional work.
• Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead legal advisor for commercial and operational matters across U.S. and Canadian business operations.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply, purchase and sale, service, consulting, confidentiality, and joint venture agreements.
• Partner closely with business leaders and operational teams to provide practical legal guidance while balancing commercial objectives and risk management.
• Support strategic transactions, business development initiatives, and complex operational projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
• Advise on legal and regulatory matters impacting day-to-day operations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
• Conduct legal research and provide business-focused recommendations on contracting, regulatory, and operational issues.
• Enhance contracting processes, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency across the organization.
• Assist with corporate governance, subsidiary management, and broader compliance initiatives.

• Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
