Job summary

Cisco Systems is seeking a qualified attorney to join its in-house Legal team in the United States. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating complex sales and technology agreements with major service providers, while advising on AI, IP, privacy, and regulatory issues in a fast-paced environment.

You will support direct and indirect sales, collaborate with Finance on revenue recognition, and ensure compliance with governance and privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• JD required with 5+ years of legal experience in a multinational technology environment.
• Expert knowledge of commercial, contract, and business law including IP, software licensing, data privacy, and export controls.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate complex sales and commercial agreements with major service providers.
• Advise on AI, data, IP, and privacy issues, including licensing and governance.
• Counsel across direct and indirect sales channels, including distributor and reseller agreements.
• Collaborate with Finance on revenue recognition terms and contract structures to avoid accounting issues.
• Provide practical, business-focused guidance to senior Sales leadership and Finance.
• Ensure compliance with internal governance, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of teamwork and excellence.
