Job summary

UNIS Buena Park, CA, seeks a Corporate Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance across our logistics operations. The role emphasizes contracts, labor and employment matters, and M&A support, working with internal teams and external counsel to ensure governance and compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a JD, CA bar admission (or eligibility), and proven Corporate Counsel experience, with strong analytical and negotiation skills. The position is full-time, onsite, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in California or eligible for admission.
• Proven experience as Corporate Counsel or similar role.
• Experience with Real Estate and/or Labor/Employment Law.
• Strong understanding of business and supply chain logistics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in risk management and conflict resolution.
• Experience in negotiating and drafting contracts.
• Knowledge of MS Office and legal software.

Responsibilities

• Advise on contracts, labor law, risk management, and other legal matters relevant to logistics and supply chain operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings (administrative boards, court trials, etc.).
• Assist with mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
• Oversee compliance with laws and regulations; update policies accordingly.
• Collaborate with external legal advisors as needed.
• Conduct and coordinate research on various legal issues.
• Train and educate employees on legal and compliance matters.
• Provide proactive legal advice on commercial contracts, dispute resolution, regulatory, employment, and governance.
