Job summary

UNIS is seeking a General Counsel in Buena Park, CA to provide strategic legal guidance across our logistics operations. This role will oversee corporate legal processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with external counsel as needed.

The GC will play a pivotal role in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and in-house policy development. The ideal candidate will have a JD, CA bar admission, and proven GC experience, with strong knowledge of real estate and employment law,

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the state of California.
Proven experience as a General Counsel or similar role.
Experience with Real Estate and/or Labor / Employment Law
Strong understanding of business and supply chain logistics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in risk management and conflict resolution.
Experience in negotiating and drafting contracts.
Knowledge of MS Office and legal software.

Responsibilities

Advise on a variety of legal issues including contracts, labor law, risk management, and other legal matters relevant to our logistics and supply chain operations.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal correspondence.
Represent the company in legal proceedings (administrative boards, court trials, etc.).
Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
Oversee compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, updating policies as necessary.
Collaborate with external legal advisors as needed.
Conduct and coordinate research on various legal issues.
Train and educate employees on legal and compliance matters.
Provide proactive legal assistance and advice on various legal issues such as commercial contracts, dispute resolution, regulatory, employment, and governance.
