Job summary

Lowe's is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join the Legal Department at our headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina. You will manage a diverse litigation portfolio, advise senior stakeholders, and guide strategy from inception to resolution in a fast-paced, consumer-focused environment.

The role requires substantial civil litigation experience, a JD from an ABA-accredited school, and a license to practice law.

Qualifications

5–10 years practicing law in a law firm or in-house legal department.
Ability to influence by translating legal risk to operational risk and providing practical solutions.
Effective, concise communicator and demonstrated legal writing skills.
License to practice law in at least one state.
Meaningful experience handling civil litigation, including primary responsibility for managing matters through multiple stages of litigation.
Experience with state and federal court litigation involving commercial disputes, consumer class actions, premises liability, or product liability.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters from assessment through resolution.
Serve as trusted advisor and point of contact for Director level stakeholders and engage with VPs on complex issues.
Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies, providing solutions-based advice on functional priorities.
Manage outside counsel, including strategy, staffing, budgets and reporting.
Draft and execute legal documents and compile case information from multiple sources.
