Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance on complex commercial, regulatory, and fintech matters impacting our Platforms & Integrated business, including embedded payments and payment facilitator programs.

You will draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated agreements, lead cross-functional negotiations, and advise on product design, transaction structures, and risk allocation across payment services and software-enabled commerce solutions.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active state bar membership in good standing.
• 8+ years of legal experience in complex commercial, regulatory, transactional, fintech or financial services matters.
• Strong track record drafting, reviewing and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements while balancing legal risk with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance to business leaders on complex matters affecting Platforms & Integrated business including embedded payments and payment facilitator offerings.
• Draft, review, and negotiate platform, software, and technology agreements, referral and reseller arrangements, and third-party contracts.
• Lead or support negotiations with customers, vendors, software partners, ISVs, payment facilitators, and other third parties.
• Advise cross-functional teams on product design, transaction structures, and risk allocation for payment services and software-enabled commerce solutions.
• Manage disputes and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to payment services, fintech, and software licensing; advise on business impact and mitigation.
