Job summary

Clark Construction Group seeks a Senior Corporate Counsel to review, draft, and negotiate project contracts across the enterprise. You will partner with business leaders to ensure terms align with Clark’s standards and report to the Senior Vice President, Legal in McLean, VA.

Your role includes analyzing and drafting contracts, negotiating favorable terms, providing strategic legal guidance, and training teams on commercial matters, while building industry relationships to identify opportunities.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of transactional experience, including experience leading contract negotiation and interfacing directly with business teams in the process of contract negotiation.
• Experience with construction and/or government contracts is an advantage.
• Leadership capacity to coordinate strategy and drive effective collaboration among senior executives, project teams, and outside counsel.
• Mission-oriented with passion to contribute to the success of a longstanding institution.
• Strong work ethic with time management and multi-tasking skills and the ability to lead solutions to contractual challenges.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, review and draft contracts (owner contracts, subcontracts, and other miscellaneous agreements).
• Negotiate contracts to achieve terms consistent with Clark’s standards.
• Provide legal guidance to corporate leadership on business and industry-related matters.
• Provide training within the organization on a variety of legal topics, focusing on commercial contract matters.
• Cultivate a network of industry relationships to bring potential business opportunities to Clark leadership.
• Cultivate industry relationships to help attract and recruit top talent to Clark.
• Exceed stakeholders’ expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals.
