Job summary

Beam Therapeutics Inc. seeks a Senior Corporate Counsel, Corporate and Securities to join its growing legal team.

You will structure and negotiate collaborations and licensing transactions, assist with SEC reporting and governance for a public company, and advise senior leadership directly. You will partner with business development, finance, investor relations, and HR, while managing outside counsel to support Beam’s growth.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of experience in corporate or securities at a public biotech or life sciences company or top law firm.
• Strong experience with strategic transactions, public company reporting, and governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; business-oriented and practical.
• Onsite work in Cambridge, MA at least two days per week.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and structure collaborations, licenses, and acquisitions.
• Lead SEC reporting, governance filings, and disclosure committee activities.
• Support capital-raising activities with the finance team.
• Coordinate with investor relations on external communications.
• Advise the Board and committees, prepare governance materials.
• Support equity compensation and employment matters.
• Develop policies to ensure SEC compliance for a public company.
• Communicate legal advice clearly to senior leadership.
