Job summary

Milhaus is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations for corporate, development/construction, and property management activities. The role focuses on GAAP reporting, internal controls, and compliance across multi-entity portfolios.

You will partner with executives and project teams to optimize financial performance, drive improvements, and ensure timely, accurate reporting. CPA is preferred and 10+ years of experience in real estate accounting is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant experience.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 10+ years of accounting experience in a multi-disciplinary real estate company.
• Experience managing audits and multi-entity accounting environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements, debt covenants, and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee annual audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Provide financial analyses, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
