Job summary

RKW Residential in Miami is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting team, manage month-end closes, and ensure accuracy of financial statements for real estate portfolios including multifamily and commercial properties.

The role requires a CPA and a strong background in Real Estate accounting, with leadership of cross-functional finance staff. You will drive internal controls, coordinate audits, and partner with IT on system implementations.

Qualifications

• Significant accounting experience in Real Estate operating companies.
• Property Management Accounting experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred; CPA preferred
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting, internal controls over financial reporting
• 8-10 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities and recent leadership roles.
• Multifamily & Commercial Community real estate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close process and financial reporting.
• Lead accounting team; mentor department personnel.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and robust internal controls.
• Coordinate with auditors and address audit findings promptly.
• Partner with IT on system conversions and implementations.
