Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an experienced accounting executive to lead its accounting operations and external reporting. The role oversees the full close, consolidations, payroll, and SEC reporting to deliver accurate financial results and regulatory compliance.

You will drive scalable processes and govern data integrity across multiple entities. The successful candidate brings 12+ years in accounting, CPA, and strong leadership, with a track record in SEC reporting and multi-entity closes.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting, applying guidance to complex transactions.
• Lead large-scale financial close and consolidation in a multi-entity environment.
• Translate complex accounting guidance into practical financial statements and disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly financial close to ensure timely, accurate results.
• Direct general accounting, consolidation, multi-entity close, eliminations, joint ventures.
• Oversee preparation and review of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K).
• Partner with Technical Accounting to ensure consistency and timely disclosures.
• Coordinate with external auditors on audit planning and issues resolution.
• Ensure governance and continuous improvement of financial systems supporting reporting.
• Drive accountability across close processes and resolve impacting issues.
• Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.
• Collaborate with Treasury, FP&A, Tax, IR, and Internal Audit to align reporting.
