Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an experienced accounting professional to provide advanced support to the General Accounting department. You will maintain, process, and analyze records in line with company policies and GAAP.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely close processes, and strategic financial insight. Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and supporting management with financial analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA designation a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• JD Edwards/Oracle e1 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish, interpret, and analyze complex accounting records to support strategic decision making and GAAP compliance.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support the monthly close process.
• Review financial reports for accuracy and clarity of information.
• Prepare selected balance sheet reconciliations and analyses for GAAP compliance.
• Participate in monthly reviews of financial packages to ensure accuracy and assist strategic decisions.
• Respond to inquiries from management/executives regarding monthly financials.
• Assist Manager with research-related inquiries for decision support.
• Perform special projects and other assignments to support the department.
• Participate in cross-training to support personal development and coverage across the department.
