Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Manager, Accounting - Corporate to lead complex accounting activities, ensure an accurate, timely close, maintain internal controls, and support audit/compliance across the organization.

You will oversee general ledger, treasury, equity compensation, intercompany, debt accounting, reconciliations, and reporting, partnering with HR, FP&A, and leadership. Qualified candidates have a CPA, 7+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting, strong GAAP knowledge,

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA license highly preferred.
• 7+ years of corporate accounting or public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with equity compensation, intercompany, consolidations, and debt accounting.
• Public company reporting and proxy disclosures experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel (lookups, macros) required.
• ERP experience with Oracle/Workday/SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and quarter-end close to ensure accuracy and on schedule.
• Review P&L, balance sheet, reserves, and expense trends for reporting.
• Oversee salaries capitalization and related accounting.
• Manage treasury and cash management processes.
• Coordinate audits and support internal controls and compliance.
• Prepare intercompany accounting, eliminations, and consolidation reporting.
• Prepare revenue accruals and partner with AR for variances.
• Mentor accounting staff and drive process improvements.
