Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Manager, Accounting - Corporate to lead complex accounting activities and ensure accurate close and reporting. The role oversees general ledger, treasury, equity compensation, intercompany, debt accounting, and internal controls, partnering with HR, FP&A, Treasury, and accounting staff.

The position emphasizes staff development, process improvement, and policy enhancement in a 100% on-site setting with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of corporate or public accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with equity compensation, intercompany, consolidations, debt accounting, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel proficiency (lookups, macros, visualizations).
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Workday, SAP) preferred.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes for corporate accounts.
• Review P&L, balance sheet, reserves, and reporting analyses.
• Administer treasury and cash management activities.
• Oversee equity compensation accounting and intercompany activities.
• Prepare revenue accruals and analyze variances with AR.
• Support internal controls and compliance initiatives.
• Coordinate audits and provide technical accounting guidance.
• Collaborate with HR, FP&A, Treasury, AP/AR for reporting needs.
