Segrera Associates is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Corporate Accountant to join a growing accounting team in Miami, FL. The role focuses on fixed assets, payroll-related accounting, accruals, and general ledger activities, requiring strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.

The ideal candidate will support monthly close, prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate expense reporting and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record monthly journal entries including accruals and other GL adjustments.
• Manage fixed asset accounting including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations.
• Record and reconcile payroll-related journal entries including payroll expenses and liabilities.
• Prepare accruals for marketing, sales, co-op programs, travel and entertainment, and other corporate expenses.
• Review and reconcile T&E activity for proper expense classification in the GL.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes for timely financial reporting.
• Analyze GL activity, identify fluctuations, and assist with variance analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments for accurate expense reporting and accruals.
• Assist with external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
