Job summary

PROENERGY is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support month-end close in accordance with US GAAP. You will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and financial analysis, reporting to the Accounting Manager.

This role requires 3–7 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree, and strong Excel skills. Location: Sedalia, MO or Houston, TX with emphasis on governance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other similar business degree.
• 3–7 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management software; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute month end closing activities including journal entries, financial analysis, account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.
• Adhere to internal closing schedules and reporting deadlines.
• Assist with preparation of internal financial reports and analyses of KPIs vs. budget/forecast.
• Reconcile and maintain schedules for monthly intercompany journal entries.
• Prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts and document support for transactions.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and correct any data errors.
• Support day-to-day financial transactions including AP/AR as needed.
• Assist in budgeting process and provide insights for financial reporting.
