Job summary

PROENERGY is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join its finance team. You will be responsible for month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and financial analysis in a US GAAP environment. The role supports budgeting, audits, and financial reporting for power generation projects.

Location options include Sedalia, MO and Houston, TX, with diverse responsibilities and opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field.
• 3–7 years of accounting or related experience.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and GAAP.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; ERP experience helpful.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare internal financial reports and analyses of variances to budget/forecast.
• Maintain fixed asset register and capitalization of CAPEX projects.
• Support external auditors and year-end audit requests.
• Assist with annual budgeting and financial close processes.
• Produce detailed variance explanations for management.
