Job summary

BDO in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Tax Experienced Senior for Core Tax Services to apply tax knowledge, gather client information, and assist in planning and accruals. You will serve as the main client contact and supervise junior staff as needed.

Responsibilities include tax compliance, research, ASC 740 tax accruals, and consulting to reduce client tax liabilities. CPA or EA credentials preferred; strong communication and analytical skills required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics
• CPA certification preferred or Authorization to Test for CPA
• Master’s in accountancy or taxation preferred
• Three or more years of tax experience preferred
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Ensures client compliance with authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens
• Manages tax projects by planning processes and procedures
• Answers preparer questions and coordinates engagement from onset
• Conducts detailed reviews on returns and notes for preparers
• Identifies book-to-tax differences and budget considerations
• Prepares provision workpapers and discusses with team members
• Drafts tax provision memorandums and discusses with Assurance
• Assists with developing and implementing efficient tax strategies
• Gathers information for controversy work and documents positions
