Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Pre-Development/Combustion Engineer to join a fast-paced engine team in Auburn Hills, MI. You will develop and test combustion systems, work with hardware and control teams, and present results to management.

The role requires strong dyno testing, data processing, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Qualifications include a degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in engine dyno development or calibration (MS/PhD options available), plus deep knowledge of

Qualifications

• BSc with 5+ years in engine dyno development or calibration at OEM/supplier.
• MS with 2+ years university research +3 years OEM/supplier experience.
• PhD with 4+ years university research +3 years OEM/supplier experience.
• Strong understanding of gasoline engine efficiency, performance and emissions.
• Ability to quantify impact of combustion changes on performance and emissions without full testing.
• Ability to guide root-cause analysis and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Experience with engine analysis, calibration tools and emissions regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test new and existing combustion systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and controls teams; present results to management.
• Support calibration development activities and standard processes.
• Interact with dyno operation team and chief engineers.
• Prepare test summaries and detailed reports for assignments.
