Job summary

ING Americas in New York is seeking a Senior IT Engineer – Core Banking Platform on a CONTRACTOR basis to support and operate a mission-critical core banking service for the US market. You will handle platform engineering, production operations, incident resolution, and continuous service improvement, collaborating across global teams in a hybrid work model.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in IT engineering, strong SQL, Linux/Unix, and experience with banking products, payments, and settlement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in IT engineering, application operations, or production support.
• Strong SQL troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Linux/Unix platform experience.
• Experience with Incident, Problem and Change Management.
• Experience troubleshooting APIs and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production incident and operational support.
• Investigate service disruptions and perform root cause analysis.
• Support release, deployment and change management activities.
• Monitor platform stability, performance and readiness.
• Maintain runbooks, procedures and support documentation.
• Collaborate across application, database, infra, vendor and business teams.
