Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC. is seeking a Controls Technician for a day shift in the southwest suburban Atlanta area.

The role involves building PLC panels, programming and getting automated equipment up and running, and supporting integration of controls in production lines. The candidate will troubleshoot PLC systems, install and program controllers, and work with engineers and the production team to ensure optimal output.

Qualifications

• Desire at least 6 years of related experience.
• PLC programming experience with context clues within PLC programs.
• Comfort programming a machine process from scratch.
• Ability to wire a 9-lead motor and stress test windings.
• Able to identify motor data plate information for specing or programming components (contactors, soft starters, VFDs).
• Familiarity with sensors: PNP, NPN, loop-powered, dry contact.
• Analog control familiarity: 4-20mA and 0-10V.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting.
• Panel building and electrical experience.
• Some robotic experience.
• Safety circuit integration.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate or supervise operation of equipment and processes.
• Analyze and categorize events within the equipment to improve output.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to achieve target output.
• Perform preventative maintenance, routine upgrades and inspections.
• Repair machine controls, systems and tools as needed.
• Disassemble or re-assemble equipment to replace defective parts.
• Train others to install, use and service equipment.
