Job summary

Mars in Henderson, NV is seeking a Senior Controls Technician to maintain and improve the plant's electrical and control systems. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and instrumentation, coaching maintenance staff and leading control-related initiatives.

The role requires strong communication, ownership of performance, and teaching skills. The position offers shift flexibility and opportunities to participate in calibration and PM programs within a global factory IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Factory Controls & IT experience.
• Possess or can obtain NFPA 70E certification (electrical safety).
• Ability to support day, evening, or night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement changes to improve plant performance using existing or new control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and VFD/servo systems with electrical schematics and programming tools.
• Train and assist Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning electrical control devices.
• Act as a technical resource to operations and maintenance on control-related issues.
• Prepare job aids, systems docs, and SOPs for plant automation.
• Supervisor duties with outside contractors on installations of instrumentation and PLC-based systems.
