Job summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is seeking an experienced Controls/DCS Technician for a manufacturing environment in Columbia, SC. You will perform hands-on automation and controls work with DeltaV DCS and AB PLCs, troubleshoot and maintain DCS/PLC/HMI systems, and support commissioning and startup activities.

The role requires strong instrumentation knowledge, reading P&IDs and electrical drawings, and flexibility for on-call/on-shift needs.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Industrial Electronics Technology, or military technical training, or 5–10 years of equivalent hands-on experience.
Experience supporting DCS, PLC, instrumentation, automation, electrical, or control systems in an industrial environment.
Strong ability to read P&IDs, loop sheets, electrical drawings, control schematics, and panel drawings.
Familiarity with Emerson DeltaV, Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networking.
Willingness to support on-call hours, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on automation and controls support using Emerson DeltaV DCS and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
Troubleshoot and maintain DCS, PLC, HMI, instrumentation, I/O, networking, and control system components.
Perform field checks, loop checks, functional testing, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup support.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control panels, field instrumentation, and automation equipment.
Support basic DCS/PLC programming changes and HMI graphic modifications.
Maintain and troubleshoot existing and legacy control systems.
Assist with industrial communication interfaces and control system networking.
Support controls projects through field verification, installation, testing, checkout, and startup.
