Job summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is seeking a Controls/DCS Engineer to support automation and control systems in a continuous-process manufacturing facility. The role emphasizes DCS/PLC programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning during plant startups.

Required: a B.S. in Electrical or Chemical Engineering and 3–5+ years of controls/DCS experience in continuous processes; familiarity with Emerson DeltaV DCS, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Windows Server, and Ethernet networking; occasional travel (<10%) and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years of controls/DCS engineering experience.
• DCS experience within a continuous-process manufacturing environment.
• Experience with electrical and control system design.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, controls, and project drawings.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory/Domain Controllers, Windows OS, and Ethernet networking.
• Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to support on-call, overtime, nights, or holidays when plant needs require it.
• Ability to travel occasionally - less than 10%.
• Understanding of Safety Instrumented Systems / ISA 84.

Responsibilities

• Support automation systems utilizing Emerson DeltaV DCS and Allen-Bradley PLCs
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot DCS/PLC programming and HMI applications
• Diagnose control system, hardware, software, networking, and communication issues
• Develop communication interfaces between manufacturing equipment and control systems
• Partner with Maintenance and Operations during commissioning, functional checkout, startup, and troubleshooting
• Conduct functional testing and FAT
• Lead and participate in project startup and commissioning activities
• Develop control narratives, Functional specs, design specs, and technical procedures

What You'll Do
