Job summary

CGP Data Center and Cloud Solutions is seeking a Controls Technician II to monitor and service building automation systems in a Houston data center. You will troubleshoot advanced control systems, work with HVAC and electrical equipment, and support integration and commissioning phases.

This role requires five years of experience in control systems or BAS/BMS in data centers or equivalent settings, with strong problem-solving and communication skills. Travel up to ~25% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of experience performing Control System / Building Automation service and repair in a data center, heavy industrial, or pharmaceutical/biomedical environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure including related HVAC and electrical equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting Control Systems, BAS/BMS systems including but not limited to (Automated Logic, Honeywell, Siemens, Edstrom, etc.)
• Possess knowledge of Building Systems sequence of operations
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing process mechanical systems

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot building automation systems at an advanced level.
• Troubleshoot HVAC equipment across mission critical facilities.
• Install, configure, test and maintain application software and system tools.
• Collaborate with other technicians, mechanics or subcontractors to perform facility maintenance and repairs.
• Provide instruction, mentorship and training to less skilled technicians.
• Oversee and monitor site infrastructure to ensure operational integrity.
• Participate in test and commissioning phases of construction for programming validation.
• Perform data integration of equipment utilizing BACnet, Modbus, etc.
• Communicate with remote and local supporting personnel via email and telephone.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Follow safety guidelines and lockout/tag-out procedures.
• Operate tools and diagnostic hardware as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
