Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Hawaii seeks a Controls Service Technician 5 to service, design, configure and operate complete HVAC building control systems and low-voltage subsystems. You will develop software, commission systems, and prepare submittals for owners, consultants, and contractors.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration with sales, service operations, and subcontractors while maintaining system performance and documentation for as-built records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with programming, installing, and/or commissioning controls systems.
• 5 years of Metasys experience.
• Knowledge of building automation systems and electrical schematics.
• Experience integrating low-voltage subsystems using Modbus, LON and BACnet.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, service and troubleshoot complex building control systems.
• Create diagrams, bills of materials, network layouts and electrical schematics.
• Develop, test and adjust software programs for system operation.
• Coordinate drawings and submittals to support service and project docs.
• Load and commission controllers and verify full system functionality.
• Troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and trades to ensure proper operation.
• Prepare field change info for as-built drawings and software updates.
• Provide guidance to junior technicians and inform management of progress and risks.
