Job summary

Quest Global in Longmont, Colorado is seeking a Senior Controls Hardware engineer with strong expertise in DCS/Gas and Steam Turbine and Balance of Plant cabinet engineering for power plant applications.

This role will drive the design, development, integration and technical support of cabinet design, architectures, power distribution and wiring for plant control systems, and will collaborate with vendors, OEMs and internal teams through FAT, SAT, commissioning and start-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation/Electrical/Control/Mechanical engineering.
• At least 6 years designing/integrating control systems (DCS/PLC/GT/ST) and BOP cabinet systems.
• Experience upgrading complex control systems and minimizing downtime during upgrades.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel for FAT/SAT/site support.

Responsibilities

• System design and architecture for Control Panel, cabinet layout, power distribution and system architecture.
• Select components (DCS/GT/ST controller, I/O cards) and ensure integration with plant control systems.
• Apply in-depth control systems knowledge to configure and troubleshoot devices.
• Plan, assign and review engineering deliverables ensuring quality and schedule adherence.
• Create and maintain design documents, schematics and manuals per standards.
• Coordinate with vendors, OEMs and internal teams; provide technical sales support; lead during FAT, SAT and commissioning.
