Job summary

Ascent Aerospace is seeking a Controls Hardware Engineer to lead the hardware design of automation control systems for aerospace projects. You will manage budgets, schedules, and design implementation, sizing power distribution and PLC components in close collaboration with a cross-functional team.

The role requires 2+ years in control system design, 5+ years on servo motion projects, and experience with AutoCAD Electrical. ITAR compliance and US Person status are required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 2+ years in control system electrical design.
• 5+ years designing servo-controlled motion applications.
• Experience with Aerospace Automated Equipment integration preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (Electrical preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mechanical design team on motor sizing and space constraints.
• Build electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Manage hardware specs, wiring diagrams and installation of automation systems.
• Provide wiring plan direction to electricians for panel builds and field wiring.
• Coordinate with vendors on electrical hardware, design and schedules.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers using engineering knowledge.
• Contribute to developing company electrical design standards.
