Job summary

Ascent Aerospace, a world-renowned provider of production and automated assembly systems, seeks a senior field service/control engineer. You will diagnose complex control systems, read schematics, and travel to customer sites for commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades.

You’ll work with project managers and sales to bridge engineering, operations, and customer support, leveraging Siemens automation experience and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years field service experience or 2-3 years controls engineer experience
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
• Able to work at the company or customer facilities, in excess of eight hours per day or 40 hours per week on a second shift and/or weekends if necessary
• Proficiency in Microsoft office
• Experience demonstrating problem solving abilities and resourcefulness
• This position must meet export control compliance requirements, therefore a “us person” as defined by 22.c.f.r. § is required

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex industrial control systems, including PLCs, CNC controllers, field bus networks, and drive systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and use multi-meter to diagnose electrical circuits
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and other entities to ensure requirements are understood and communicated to senior management
• Support field service engineers by traveling to customer sites to perform commissioning, maintenance, upgrades, and training
• Follow policy and procedures including safe working practices
• Provide input for service bids and quotes
• Automated controls system programming
• Any additional duties assigned by management
