Dematic Corp is seeking a Controls Engineering Manager to lead a team of project engineers within the Project Engineering Organization. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of leadership experience and a background in material handling or logistics automation.

The role emphasizes tactical execution, team growth, and continuous improvement across projects, with travel ~15–25% to customer sites. Base pay range $114,000–$167,200 and final compensation based on location and experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering management or people leadership.
• 8+ years in material handling or logistics automation preferred.
• Ability to lead in remote, office, and customer-site environments.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of PLCs including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own project performance and outcomes of direct engineering team.
• Provide coaching and guidance to ensure team success.
• Ensure targets for quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
• Provide regular project performance reporting to management.
• Maintain monthly project forecasting.
• Proactively manage direct project budgets and indirect budgets.
• Assist with annual staffing budget considerations.
• Attend project turnovers and assess risks prior to deployment.
• Make staffing decisions based on skills and priorities.
• Maintain utilization and level-load team members.
• Participate in pre-sale technical reviews with Sales/SD teams.
• Identify opportunities to reduce risks and meet customer expectations.
• Analyze impact of decisions on business operations.
• Recommend process improvements.
