Job summary

Zaddy Solutions is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and implement machine control systems for a World Class Manufacturer near Oneida, NY. The role involves AutoCAD-based design, PLC/HMI programming (Allen-Bradley and Siemens), and hands-on troubleshooting with maintenance teams.

You will lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new equipment across local facilities, with travel about 30% and a focus on safety and NEC compliance.

Qualifications

• AAS or BS in Engineering and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code and machine safety standard.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic systems, along with Siemens controls support.
• Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (approximately 30% travel).
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting support to maintenance teams, including equipment diagnostics, upgrades, wiring, and real-time machine issue resolution.
• Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify or develop PLC logic to support production and operational improvements.
