ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer to join a World Class Manufacturer near the Oneida, NY area. The role focuses on designing and integrating automated control systems with AutoCAD, PLCs, and HMIs, with 30% travel to multiple local facilities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in engineering, experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Siemens controls, and a solid understanding of NEC and machine safety standards.

Qualifications

• AAS or BS in Engineering and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code and machine safety standards.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without restriction.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic systems, along with Siemens controls support.
• Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (approximately 30% travel).
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting support to maintenance teams, including equipment diagnostics, upgrades, wiring, and real-time machine issue resolution.
• Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify or develop PLC logic to support production and operational improvements.
