Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Texas is seeking a Controls Engineer III to design and deliver advanced PLC and HMI control solutions. You will own projects from concept through release, collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure high-performance results.

The role requires hands-on experience in industrial controls, C/C++ programming, and standards such as NEC, ISA, UL. You will mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvements across architectures and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial experience programming PLC-controlled machinery.
• Experience designing, testing, and implementing industrial control systems.
• Proficient with electrical control panel wiring and drawings.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and operation theories.
• Experience with PLC and HMI applications for industrial panels.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain control firmware and display applications.
• Develop embedded and industrial control software using C, C++, JavaScript, and IEC 61131 languages.
• Test and validate control solutions with hardware and simulation tools.
• Lead technical ownership of complex or non-standard control systems.
• Generate and maintain project documentation.
• Communicate accurate project estimates and deliver on schedule.
• Collaborate to integrate FW Murphy technologies into cohesive architectures.
• Share technical concepts with project teams for direction and improvement.
• Mentor less experienced engineers as appropriate.
