Job summary

Dover Precision Components’ FW Murphy Production Controls in Rosenberg, TX seeks a senior Controls Engineer to design, develop, and deliver advanced control systems. You will own complex PLC/HMI projects from concept to release, collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure reliable performance.

The role requires hands-on controls expertise, strong engineering judgment, and ability to translate customer requirements into scalable solutions, with opportunities for mentorship

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Engineering Technology OR related technical vocational training with extended experience of 5 years or more preferred.
• Experience developing PLC and HMI applications for industrial control panels.
• Working knowledge of applicable industrial standards (NEC, CEC, ISA, UL, CSA, API, ANSI).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain product control firmware and display applications to meet customer requirements and project deliverables.
• Develop embedded and industrial control software using C, C++, JavaScript, IEEE 61131 programming languages, and proprietary development tools.
• Independently test and validate control solutions with hardware and simulation tools.
• Lead technical ownership of complex control system solutions for non-standard applications.
• Generate and maintain project documentation (S.O.P., tables, display maps).
• Develop estimates and deliver on schedule with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with engineering peers to create complete system solutions.
