Job summary

Sortation Labs, LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer II to support all phases of control projects, including concept, design, PLC/HMI programming, on-site installation, and after-sales support. The role requires leadership to mentor junior engineers, strong troubleshooting, and willingness to travel extensively.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3–5 years of field experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, PLC programming, and electrical schematics.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of PLC programming, systems integration, and controls concepts.
Ability to read specifications, drawings, and develop compliant electrical designs.
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team.
Willingness to travel and work non-business hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Understand AC/DC control systems and read component cut sheets.
Design and develop layouts for electrical circuits and power/control distribution.
Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI, debug on-site installations.
Create test plans and document system operations for technical docs.
Lead and mentor junior engineers on projects and teams.
Communicate status and schedule to team members and stakeholders.
