Job summary

OcyonBio is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead automation for manufacturing equipment and facilities. You will design, commission, qualify, operate, and support lifecycle management of PLC, HMI, BMS, and SCADA systems.

Collaboration with IT, Quality, and Validation is essential for compliant operations in a regulated setting. The role requires hands-on experience with industrial automation, strong documentation, and a focus on data integrity and change control.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Experience with HMI configuration and control narratives
• Familiarity with BMS, SCADA, alarm management, and data integrity features
• Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11, and GAMP 5 principles preferred

Responsibilities

• Establish site automation program, system inventory, and lifecycle plans for manufacturing systems.
• Develop SOPs and work instructions for automation changes and version control.
• Create and maintain PLC/HMI/BMS document repositories and configuration controls.
• Define automation requirements and review control designs, interlocks, and interfaces.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and related control software.
• Support HVAC and critical utilities within change control and qualification.
• Lead automation root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Provide technical training to Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
