Job summary

Vantive, a leading vital organ therapy company, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to drive new product development for next‑generation medical devices. You will design, test, and verify control algorithms, prototype rapidly, and perform HIL/SIL testing with a cross‑functional team.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years (or a Master’s with 2+ years) in Electrical/Mechanical/Biomedical/Controls/Systems/Software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 2+ years, in Electrical/Mechanical/Biomedical/Controls/Systems/Software or related engineering field
  • Strong experience with model-based design tools (MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow) and code generation
  • Experience with embedded software for real-time digital control systems and communication protocols
  • Collaborative cross-functional work in regulated environments (medical devices a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Design embedded closed‑loop control algorithms using model‑based design tools
  • Define requirements and operating modes for control systems
  • Utilize SIL/HIL to accelerate development and de-risk designs
  • Plan verification activities and run automated tests and lab evaluations
  • Create design history documentation for release
  • Serve as Controls SME and troubleshoot system‑level issues with teams
  • Support cross‑functional projects with progress and risk updates
