Job summary

NAES is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to serve as a corporate-level technical leader across a fleet of power generation facilities. You will deliver billable controls engineering services and provide technical leadership, mentorship, and project execution support in field environments.

You will lead complex control system upgrades, participate in outage planning, and coordinate with site personnel, vendors, and corporate engineers to ensure safe, reliable and compliant system performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college; equivalent experience considered.
10 years of controls engineering experience.
Experience with control system architecture: HMIs, historians, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
ISA Certified Automation Professional and cybersecurity certificates preferred; SANS GICSP valued.

Responsibilities

Lead complex control system efforts, including upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting of critical issues.
Mentor and support Controls Engineers; serve as primary escalation point for high-risk issues.
Execute hands-on control system engineering: troubleshooting, modifications, commissioning, maintenance.
Provide field support to power plants with minimal supervision and sound judgment.
Develop and execute pre-activity and outage plans for upgrades and maintenance.
Coordinate with site personnel and vendors to ensure safe scope execution.
Track progress, schedules, and deliverables; ensure quality and compliance.
