Job summary

E Tech Group in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead hardware and software design for process automation projects from concept through commissioning. You will define architecture, develop detailed software specs, program PLC/SCADA, configure historians, and support startup and commissioning services.

You will interact with clients to understand business needs, develop solution options, and deliver high-quality control systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience or equivalent combination.
Consulting experience.
Proficiency in troubleshooting control systems and process controls.
Ignition Perspective experience.
Rockwell experience with ControlLogix/CompactLogix/PlantPAx/Studio 5000/ PLC5/SLC500/RSView/PanelView+.
Other PLC platforms (GE, Siemens, Modicon).
SCADA/HMI experience (Proficy and Wonderware).
Electrical design packages for control systems.
Knowledge of control networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet).
Data Center experience is a plus.
S88 Batch knowledge and batch systems experience.
Instrumentation experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication; team player.

Responsibilities

Provide application/control systems design and development for systems of varying complexity.
Develop and evaluate alternative system solutions that meet requirements.
Modify program/system logic across multiple systems/subsystems.
Develop proficiency in several programming languages and control networks.
Interact with customers to define scope, plans and deliverables.
Collaborate in a team environment with strong customer service and continuous improvement.
Travel up to 30% to client sites.
Support documentation and planning in regulated environments.
Represent the company with a focus on client success and professional development.
