Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and develop control systems for industrial material handling solutions. You will lead concepting, develop specifications, implement proofs of concept, and guide projects from design to manufacturing.

The role requires 6+ years of experience with HMI/SCADA, Allen-Bradley and Schneider PLCs, and CAD tools (AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Experience with industrial HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers and Schneider PLCs.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial automation systems including HMI/SCADA, Allen-Bradley, and Schneider PLCs.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical or EPlan.
• Ability to lead a team and manage projects.
• Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented and collaborative.
• Creative-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Self-motivated and able to work non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the concepting and design of products that add value and meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with the development team to create new products.
• Ensure products fit with current and future manufacturing operations.
• Ensure products meet performance and cost targets.
• Specify and develop a sequence of operations for automated equipment.
• Prepare schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.
• Develop PLC programs.
• Maintain project schedules and cost estimates.
• Follow engineering standards and revision control.
• Perform prototype development and testing.
• Conduct on-site beta testing for safety and reliability.
• Investigate field issues and determine root cause.
• Domestic travel up to 60% in North America, mostly within the Continental U.S.
