Job summary

JCB North America is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to design, develop and troubleshoot automated control systems supporting manufacturing operations at our Pooler, GA facility. You will analyze system requirements, implement control algorithms, and integrate hardware/software including PLCs, HMI, and robotics to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 8–10 years in controls engineering, strong programming skills (C/C++, MATLAB, Python) and experience with Allen‑Bradley

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of controls engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with C/C++, MATLAB, Python and PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Experience with robotics, sensors, and motion control systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA/OSHA safety standards and electrical codes.
• Electrical design and controls implementation using DC/AC circuits.
• Ability to work off-shift as required.
• Pass drug screen, background checks, and pre-employment tests.

Responsibilities

• Analyze system requirements, specifications and performance objectives.
• Design and implement control systems, algorithms and strategies with hardware and PLCs.
• Develop and maintain control system schematics, logic and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions.
• Coordinate with integrators and verify completion of work.
• Ensure safety regulations and industry standards compliance.
• Troubleshoot control system issues to minimize downtime.
• Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
• Advises other departments on projects and trains staff as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
